Researcher: Christiane Alexandra Nsom
Supervisor: PD Dr. Angelika Mietzner
The current project is an empirical examination of issues of linguistic inequalities, language mismanagement and marginalisation, and linguistic ideologies from a linguistic landscape perspective in Cameroon. The study is conducted in two historical cities (Yaounde and Buea) of the country, and focuses on the representation of the two official languages and the indigenous languages of the country in the public sphere by both the State and the individuals, based on the language policy of the country.
